Joshua Becker

My name is Joshua Becker and as of June 1, 2010, I am an owner of Edwards Group LLC, along with its founder, David Edwards. David and I have been friends for the past 4 years and recently decided to join our equal passions for helping clients. Here’s a little information about me!

I received my Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, from Illinois State University in 1995. After working in the business world for several years, I attended Chicago-Kent College of Law, graduating with Honors in 2001. I was admitted to the North Carolina bar in 2001, practicing real estate law in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I returned to my home state of Illinois in 2005. Licensed in Illinois in 2006, I opened a solo practice before joining the law firm of Sgro, Hanrahan & Durr, LLP in May of 2007.

I have worked in the areas of estate planning, real estate, probate/estate administration, and Elder Law. My Elder law practice has included Medicaid planning, guardianships, powers of attorney, wills and trusts. I believe I have a unique understanding of the needs of the elderly and pride myself in serving them and their families.

In my personal life, I keep busy spending time with my wife Cecile Becker, a Neurologist with Springfield Clinic, and chasing after my three children: Mathijs (6), Kinsey (3), and Maxton (2).  I enjoy running, cycling, triathlons, camping, and home improvement.
